CCSE organizes 3 Day Long Workshop on 2D Game Development

IUB has successfully conducted a 3 day long game development workshop under the new CCSE Lab which is a HEQEP Funded Project. The 1st HEQEP funded Game Development Workshop at IUB became a powerful project-based opportunity to expose students to the exciting world of game development. A total of 30 selected individuals participated in the workshop with different backgrounds covering Computer Science, Engineering, BBA and others. Over the 3 day period the students learned to build games from scratch. At the end of the 3 day they have built games of their own using techniques demonstrated in the workshop by IUB’s very own Game Development Team (Sayem Chaklader, Junaed Alam, Monirul Islam) who were also the first to officially take game development workshop at the Microsoft Bangladesh Office in Game Camp One. Participants ranged students from A levels, BBA, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication. Universities included were North South University, AIUB and many others. This has shown the diversification of fields that exists in game development and how everyone can develop the necessary skills needed to development games.

Dean of Computer Science , Dr. Ali Shihab Sabbir (SPM for encouraged students on Game Development and explained how Logic, Computer Science & Graphics merges together to build a game. Participants provided feedback on the workshop and demanded the workshop to be a recurring event so that they can learn even further.
